Distributors had now Rescind Decision To Ban Leila Djansi Movie "Ties that Bind"

Ghanaian movie enthusiasts can  now heave a sigh relief as they can  watch Ghanaian filmmaker of international repute, Leila Djansi’s award-winning film, ‘Ties That Bind’, in the comfort of their homes.
Earlier reports that distributors in.......

Ghana had hijacked the film’s release caused some kind of panic in the movie industry.
But latest reports from confirmed sources said the film would be on the movie market very soon.
The Distributors Guild of Ghana has reportedly rescinded its directive to its members not to distribute the film after a recent disagreement between the group and the ‘Ties That Bind’ director.
The guild reportedly stopped its member, Abdul Salam, producer and CEO of Venus Film, who is about to distribute Leila Djansi’s ‘Ties That Bind’, from releasing the film.
This was because the leadership of the guild was not happy about a comment made by Leila about working with one of its members and her opinion about distribution in Ghana. It hence wanted Leila to apologize to them. Leila was a bit hesitant to apologize because she saw nothing wrong with her comment which she posted on social media Facebook and finally landed in mainstream media.
Nevertheless, she went ahead to send an apology to the group but even after that, the distributors still did not soften their stance.
This caused Leila to issue a threat on Peace FM’s ‘Entertainment Review’ last week that she was going to court to seek redress if the group would not allow Abdul Salam to release the film.
Less than a week after her threat, the group rescinded its decision.
