Today Marks the 7th year Anniversary of Actress Suzzy William's Death

Today September 8 2012 marks seven years (7YRS) since the renowned Ghanaian actress, Suzzy Williams left us in pain to join our ancestors.

“Chan Chan Lady’ as she was called died at the age of 23years on September 8 2005 in a motor accidentin front of the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra.

The accident occurred at about 1:30 a.m. while she and a male companion (a member of the Liberian R&B group, Soul Black) were leaving the Jokers Restaurant at La and traveling towards the Teshie Nungua Estates.

I Joke Without Malice – KSM

“I’m always nervous anytime I am getting on stage even until now but I think it’s good because it gives me the adrenalin to go”.

These and many other secrets were shared by the Ghanaian satirist comedian KSM.

Kwaku Sintim-Misah, Ghana’s foremost stand-up comedian, disclosed this on Radio XYZ’s entertainment programme Celebrity XYZ on Saturday.

According KSM, the real name given to him by his father was “Godfred”, a German name but his love for culture made him switch to his indigenous name.

An old student of Legon Presec and Prempeh College as well as a pioneer of NAFTI, KSM has become an ace comedian in the country borne out of his love for the arts and entertainment industry.

KSM told Nana Yaa Agyare, host of Celebrity XYZ that he writes his own scripts and does a lot of rehearsals before he goes on stage. Where then does this satirist get his ideas for what he does?

“My ideas for production are things that hit me without me thinking about them”.

To him, stand-up comedy is the ability to observe situations and create fun out of them.

He uses this style on all manner of persons including heads of states.

According to KSM, he is able to do so without offending the sensibilities of anyone because “he jokes with the absence of malice”.

However, do these comedians always have it rosy on stage to make people laugh? KSM reveals to Celebrity XYZthat there have been times where he had to perform despite some external pressures.

Narrating one of these bad times, KSM said once he was going to perform in Canada, and minutes ahead of his scheduled time, he received the heart-wrenching news of his mum’s death.

He however says bad times do come but one must not allow it to affect his show.

“Comedy is 10% of what I actually do; I’m also the CEO of Saphire Ghana limited, a content development company and Ogya FM,” KSM said.
For KSM, his legacy for the youth will be that he has expanded the phenomenon of comedy.

It is now up to the young ones to transform it to develop themselves and the nation at large.

Hot Gossip Girl Goes into Acting

TV3’s ‘Hot Gossip’ anchor Baby Dappah is making a debut appearance in a movie titled ‘Love & Facebook’ from the stables of Talents United Production.

Baby uses her ‘Hot Gossip’ programme to generate or repeat juicy gossips about Ghanaian celebrities.

The movie will be premiered on September 7, 8 and 9 at the TV3 Executive Theatre, 6pm and 8pm each night for only GH¢5.

“Ghanaian movie fans will experience the wildest romantic comedy so far,” said director Kobi Rana.

The writer and director  of thrilling movies like ‘Kiss Me If You Can’,  ‘Crazy’, ‘2bad’ and ‘Hotel Babylon’ added, “This is the most affordable movie premiere ever as it targets all ‘facebookers’; young and old, rich and poor, black and white.”

‘Love & Facebook’ is described as funny, sad, emotional and suspenseful story of a boxer, housewife, writer, model, player and student caught in an exciting game of love and lust.

With actors Adjetey Anang (Pusher), Roslyn Ngissah, Ebi Bright and Kobi Rana supported by Albert Jah, Leo Mensah, Baby Blanche, Marian Addo and introducing Baby Dappah, the movie could never go wrong in terms of performance.

Van Vicker suffers injury on set while shooting his latest movie

Award-winning actor cum producer Van Vicker has postponed the shoot of his upcoming action film titled ‘Lost’, due to a leg injury.

Van got hurt whilst rehearsing for a stunt for the film which has been scripted to come out with a lot action-packed scenes.

It is yet to be substantiated what really transpired while rehearsing but sources close to him said Van was supposed to go on set this month as everything was ready to start shooting. But he couldn’t because his leg injury hadn’t healed.

“Van really wanted to cause some stir with this upcoming movie, that is why he putting in much effort. He wants things to be done for real, hence his reason for the choreographed fight thing. The production has been postponed until September by which time he would have recovered. He also has travels to do in some days,” the source said.

Van has since last month been spotted limping at programmes.
