Nana Ama McBrown Challenges Movie Producers

Nana Ama was responding to Graphic Showbiz questions last Friday on the sidelines of the “Back In The Day” concert in Accra, over why the much-loved actress has not been competing with the likes of Jackie Appiah, Yvonne Nelson, Nadia Buari and Yvonne Okoro in English language movies.  According to her......
, producers in English movies know what she’s capable of. “I have had the opportunity to feature in a handful of English language movies such as Hotel Babylon, Grave Yard and Mistake so it’s not a bother to me if I’m not being featured.

“The fact is, if I am offered two good scripts, one in English and another in Akan, I may not know which to choose first because I’m comfortable with both. The fact that I am not often featured in English language movies doesn't make me a poor actress; I can play any role given to me as well as any other actress would”, she said.  Explaining why she’s most often seen in Akan language movies, Nana Ama said she had been doing so since she started acting 12 years ago and she had had no problem with any producer. Indeed many producers respect her views and often take her advice on location.
